Sustainable Building Solutions™ worked with CRP Commercial Services as a LEED Project Administrator on the 17,000 SF buildout of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Offices project in the Henry S. Reuss Federal Plaza Building at 310 W. Wisconsin Ave., 9th Floor, Milwaukee, WI 53203.

The project earned LEED ID&C Silver certification. SBS helped the project team implement cost effective, smart sustainable measures to accomplish its goal of LEED-ID&C Silver Certification. The mechanical and electrical systems were designed with energy efficiency and occupant comfort in mind. Utilizing SBS’s collaborative team design process kept costs in line and brought savings to the bottom line.

Other sustainable actions included the management and recycling of over 80% or the waste from the project, reusing all the furniture in the space, using construction materials that had high percentages of recycled content and were manufactured and sourced within 500 miles of the project. Additionally, fundamental and enhanced commissioning were done to ensure that the mechanical systems were operating as designed and many transportation credits were awarded do to the urban location of the building.
